Victoria Findlay Wolfe, who won QuiltCon 2013 with her Double Edged Love quilt ,a modern version of a double wedding ring pattern, will be teaching a (single ring) of a Double Wedding ring class at Quilting LIVE!
Also on View: Victoria curated an exhibit of Double Wedding Ring quilts from her NYC MOD Guild’s International Double Wedding Ring Challenge. Don’t miss hearing her talk on the Quilt walk about the quilts. Friday Sept 12, at 1pm
Victoria’s current works are a series of double wedding ring quilts based on happy childhood memories with her grandparents. Her Grandmother, Elda Wolfe, was a “crazy quilter” of sorts, who made beautiful “Jig saw- like” polyester quilts, that were very modern for her time. 15 of these quilts are on view at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts through October, and will travel on to the International Quilt Study Center in March 2015 before traveling to other exhibits internationally. Her second book based on this series of work, Double Wedding Ring Quilts: Traditions Made Modern will be released January 2015.
